With the new and revised site that doesn’t only cater to just one area but to me and my life. And with my life, as a twenty something year old, there’s enough fun facts to tell. So here we go!
1. I’ve been to 6 different countries before the age of 18
It sound like a lie but it’s true. I’ve been to Mexico, Honduras, Switzerland, Germany, France, and The Netherlands. Mexico has always had a special place in my heart because that was my home away from home. My parents had timeshare in Cabo for a number of years and spent a good time of my childhood there. And good news, I’ll be returning to Cabo in a few short months on the Disney cruise.
The trip to Roatán Honduras was a one time thing. My mom’s boss invited his family and friends as well as his colleagues and their families to Honduras. I don’t remember much (I was 6 back then) except for the fact that I had the worst stomachache on the plane en route to the island, hanging out with the dolphins and getting stung by jellyfish, especially picking one up with my little finger.
The European countries were all in one week due to a river cruise. It was apart of my parents 20th wedding anniversary celebration and they decided to bring their angsty 16 year old on this cruise. What were they thinking?! But it was an interesting experience. I would definitely would want to revisit Switzerland and Germany sometime.
2. I was homecoming princess in high school

Even though I was not the most popular kid in school or got the title of prom queen, I got the next best thing: homecoming princess. It was a total surprise and it was overwhelming at first, but once the weekend was over, it died down. With that status, it made me want to get on Instagram and other platforms. Luckily I still have the crown and plan on wearing it when I get married at some point in the future.
3. I share a birthday with a few celebrities
The most well-known is Cameron Diaz, whom I’ve known her from The Mask. As well as “Meant to be” singer Bebe Rexha. there are not a whole lot but just a few.
4. I drink coffee AND tea
As weird as it sounds I drink both. Prior to the staycation with Brennan, I was always a tea person, always have always will. But after trying out some coffee with some success, I switched out my morning tea with coffee. Now, I created a balance of having my morning coffee and nighttime tea.
5. I am more of a cat person
I mean it’s pretty obvious since I have a cat of my own. I don’t care about dogs that much, they can be too much energy and too much work. And as someone who works swing in healthcare, I don’t have the time for it. Cats are more like “hey what’s up. I’m here if you wanna hang, I’ll be right here.” In which I can dig it.
6. There’s an urban legend around my name
For context, my full name is Nicole Eve Wangler. Eve came from my great grandmother Eva but Nicole is almost a mystery. One urban myth is that I’m named after Nicole Kidman but I guess I’ll never know the truth.
7. Even though I have traveled so much, I didn’t move around alot
I grew up in Bend, spent the first 21 years of my life there until I moved to Portland for school. Now that I’m done with school and have lived in Portland for three years, I’m going back to Bend. If you haven’t read my last post, go ahead and read it to understand why. But yeah, it kind of gave me a sense of stability during my childhood even though there were times when I wanted to move away.
8. I had my first legal drink 13,000 feet
You read that right! I had my first drink on a plane at 21 and it was a mimosa. Not the best but to be fair I’m not the orange juice type. Now the big question is how? How did I get my first drink on a plane? Well, mom and I were en route from Seattle to Reno and we had first class (dad was in San Diego for a business trip and met us there).
9. One thing on my bucket list is to visit Graceland with my dad
To be fair, a lot of stuff on my bucket list involves travel. My dad introduced Elvis to me at a very young age and I would love to pay him back by taking him to Elvis’s estate. And it would be fun for the both of us anyways.
10. I am terrible at recycling boxes
I don’t know why, maybe it’s because my mind is on moving mode and prepping for a future move or I am just lazy, I have no idea. But I randomly collect boxes by the front door and never recycle them. Also recycling in my apartment complex of about 2 years is somewhat inconvenient because every time I want to recycle, the bin is full. Like, what the heck!
