When it comes to photos, there’s no explanation, the photo explains itself. Sometimes a photo can be so confusing or a story around this needs to be told. So the last couple days, I’ve been working on trying to sync my photos from my phone to my computer and alot are in different files due to the storage shortage. So, this is a perfect opportunity to do so.

With this first photo, it’s kind of funny. So, me and my best friend would celebrate our birthdays together in the middle of the month (hers is 8/08 and mine is 8/30). So that was a couple years ago and it was our first time at the Melting Pot. That was our first course, the cheese fondue and that’s just a face of “ooooh you’re going to get it!” I’ve first tried cheese fondue in Switzerland eight years ago and loved it.

This was a drawing I did in late 2019 when I first moved to Portland. And it’s true I hate snow and like the rain. I mean, I don’t mind it since I’ve been living in the area for a while now. Why do I hate snow? It’s almost like a weather nuisance outside of Christmas. In the Cascades, snow comes in the right time, sometime a little early; as early as September. But the snow just sticks around in March and April, which is why we don’t have a proper spring as we do down in the valley. But in 2017 and 2019, we had a terrible snowstorm that caused school cancellations. 2017 was the worst with approximately 2 1/2 days of school cancelations.

I always giggle with this one because this represents the relationship between my cat and my partner. Now, Brennan has been in her life since she was almost a year old, so she has grown up with him around. You would think that she would love him and be all over him. Well…not exactly. Brennan is not much of a cat person and June being a pandemic kitty, being raised with just me, she’s not much of a people kitty. There has been time where I caught them playing really well and others, he just likes to mess with her.

This last photo was a very funny one and it actually happened! One night, when I was working as a healthcare worker, we were all waiting for that one more graveyard worker to show up. We as in me and 3 other caregivers. We were just waiting in that somewhat cramped staff room with no windows, having conversation. When that one graveyard worker shows up and asks anyone for a key to start their shift, no joke all four of us unhooked our work keys from our shirts and almost like hand it to her. It was so funny that I had to draw it. In fact, this was my first drawing in a long time and I used to draw all the time. What was the coworkers’s reaction to it? They love it! One of them, Kat, said we show hang it up in the staff room. Also with the masks, it was the same month we had an inner facility COVID outbreak and yes, I got covid and no it was not fun.
