When coming up with tonight’s entry, I had a hard time getting started. But then I realize I have some health and wellness advice, products, apps, etc. that I can share with all of you. It’s easy to not be healthy or find wellness in your day to day life. It’s not just physical health but also mental health as well. And it’s easy to get lost finding the right one. So here are my tips and tricks for health and wellness.
- workout first in the morning. I know what you’re thinking, “Nicole, I don’t have time in the morning, I’m not a morning person.” Well, me neither. But what I found out is when you wake up, and are fully awake, that’s when you workout. When you workout in the morning, it makes you feel like you accomplished something, no matter what the rest of the day is.
Favorite app: FitOn. All the workouts are free. The few things that are included for subscription are workout series, health programs, music when working out, and casting your workouts onto your tv. But if you’re ok with just watching from your phone or tablet and working out, that’s ok.
Favorite drink: Celsius, more importantly in a packet. It’s really good for pre and post workout as well as during your workout. It helps with burning fat, increased metabolism, and so much more. I love the ones in the packet because trying to workout with a can in hand doesn’t make you feel motivated to workout.
2. make sure your mental health is in check. Sometimes, it’s hard to do, but make sure you have a good work-life balance, surround yourself with people who love you and care about you, and just vent in the healthiest way possible that doesn’t do harm to others.
Favorite app: Finch. Imagine Club Penguin meets mental health. You have your own little birdie friend that you help grow and there are plenty of exercises to chose from, and with the subscription, the choices is unlimited. There are breathing exercises, writing exercises, soundscapes to fall asleep to, and even an SOS portion in case you are at your lowest. I’ve been on it for almost a year and I enjoy it.
Some other small advices that I take lightly or not as heavily as others include:
- go to bed at the same time, no matter what and find a work shift that works with that sleep schedule. Your body will hate you for messing it up and for those prone to seizures, it’ll act up due to irregular sleep schedules
- if you are spiritual, find a bible study group or a devotion to study off of to be close with your common beliefs
- if you feel gross, your face is breaking out, or makeup is wearing you down, wash it. My favorite products are CeraVe. Also, don’t go to bed with foundation on
- if you’re bored, the house is a mess and it’s bothering you, clean it. It’s better to do something than to be bothered by something.
