Day 28 of 30: Disney essentials

When we go to Disneyland or any of the Disney parks, especially in the age of social media, you are wishing upon a wishing star that the experience would look as flawless as those instagram photos. But in reality, a day at the parks is not going to be magical. You’ll experience sunburns, chaffing, low battery or low storage on your phone, and sore feet to the point of not walking the rest of the day. Honestly after my second previous experience, I learned alot and applied to my most recent trip to Disneyland a couple years ago. And I know I will use those essentials when me and my family go to Walt Disney World for met dad’s 75th birthday.

  1. sunblock– it is so easy to have fun in the sun and find out when you get to your room to see how red you are. As someone with naturally pale skin as Snow White, I get sunburned easily no matter how hot it is. Make sure you apply and reapply at the parks. You may get a tan instead of being red as Sebastian the crab
  2. petrolium jelly– for my thick legged ladies and gents, we know the struggle. The struggle of enjoying our time and discovering after some time that you are chaffing and it burns as bad as any sunburn. We could do longer shorts but sometimes those shorts creep upwards. Petroleum jelly is the way to do it. It keeps your thigh gap (or lack there of) lubricated and prevent any abrasions.
  3. portable charger– nothing is worse than to have your phone battery at 12% in the middle of your park day. Having a portable charger is a lifesaver at the parks no matter what. But here’s the catch, make sure that your charger is fully charged. nothing is worse than having low battery on your phone and your charger is not charging because there’s no juice in there.
  4. good quality shoes– it’s easy to look at the influencers in their cute shoes, posing, thinking that you can wear something like that. Honey, your feet will hate you sooo much at the end of the day that you’d vow not to do it ever again. Stylish sneaker shoes like converse won’t help either; I know because I’ve work them, got blisters, achy feet, and resort to some flip fops. Sport shoes and shoes that inserts on them that help with the arch of the feet will help alot.

Some minor ones I’d recommend are cash, bandaids in case of blistering, a water bottle, and for the health conscious folks, hand sanitizer.

I hope these will help on your next trip to Disney or any other theme park like Universal, Seaworld, etc.
